Urban Climate Index
The Urban Climate Index ranks areas of a city by the climate of a given month. It is for people who live there or want to. It combines land surface temperature on urban ground with air, humidity and rain from official stations. You use it to see where you want to be that month. We publish any city, any month.
Surface temperature on the towers, 20 to 40 °C, and the week as a line.
What it measures
- Land surface temperature on urban ground, for a given month and year.
- Air, humidity and rain from the nearest official station that has each reading.
- A published score for that month’s cut. How to read it depends on the season rule of that cut.
What it does not measure
- Rent, schools or the property market. Those sit outside the score.
- Culture, healthcare or safety. The number is the climate of that month.
- The weather still coming. That is TrueWind.
Where it applies
If you live in this city or you are thinking of it, the ranking tells you which barrios or zones ran cooler or hotter that month. You use it the way people use a published ranking of cities: where you want to be, walk, stay.
